Erik, Thom and Tree are flatmates. They are a con-man, computer hacker and new-age hippy respectively. When a freak plumbing accident floods them out of their apartment they attempt to take their couch down the street to the Goodwill store.
Only their couch doesn't want to go. It won't let them put it down. What's more, it grows heavier if they take it in a direction it doesn't like.
So these three slackers end up on a quest across America, and beyond, as they try to find out where the couch wants them to go. It is an upholstered Odyssey unlike any other you are likely to read. It is funny, confusing in places, wild and anarchic. It is part Quixote, part Murakami, part Tom Robbins, part DFS showroom.
I was sent Couch
as a PDF by its US publisher, the wonderful Small Beer Press. They publish it next month. It has cult hit written all over it. The style and subject matter won't be for everyone but if the description above has you intrigued then you are probably the sort of person who, like me, will love it.
Oh, and I stupidly forgot to mention the author's name which you may not be able to make out from the cover image. He is, rather wonderfully, called Benjamin Parzybok.
Def going on my Christmas wish list.

This looks great! I've been trying to find an excerpt of it before I order but I'm not having any luck. Do you know if one is available?

I don't think there is Adele but I tell you what. If you buy it and don't like it I will send you a TFP book of your choice for free - how about that?
