Once again, Scott has been very generous and kindly loaned me his blog today to help spread the word about my latest ebook, BEFORE HIS TIME, which happens to be the barmy sequel to ABOVE HIS STATION, a book that Scott was very kind to promote on this very site - and the resulting downloads following his post were very favourable, which meant that lots more people were reading it, and generating some lovely reviews in the process via Goodreads/Amazon.

When I began to self-publish my books, and without an agent or publisher to have to impress, I allowed myself complete freedom to write about whatever I wanted. For me, being able to self-publish has reinvigorated my love of writing, and rekindled (no pun intended) my love of anarchic comedy mixed with a subtle dash of science fiction.

The combined result was ABOVE HIS STATION, which was released mid-2012.

It has been said by several readers that a book like AHS deserves to be ploughed into head-first without reading the blurb if you can help it. This does, however, pose a number of problems for me as the author, in that I obviously want as many folk as possible to read the book, and the plot summary is usually a good indicator for readers to decide whether the book is for them.

I had to remain very economical with what it was actually about, due to the radical nature of the plot (as anyone that has read it will hopefully attest) as well as not wanting to spoil all the surprises for people. And this does make describing the plot of the sequel somewhat harder, because now I have two plots that I don’t want to spoil!

For anyone that has yet to read AHS, in preparation for the release of the sequel BEFORE HIS TIME I have lowered the price on the Amazon Kindle store to only £1.96, and as BHT is also available for the same price, for a shade less than 4 quid you can get two ebooks, which should set you up nicely for when the next book, BEYOND HIS YEARS, is released later in 2013.
